ABOUT
Every year in the United States, more than 20,000 youth age out of the Foster Care system. Without a family support system to assist with the transition from dependence to independence, roughly 25% of these young adults will become homeless in the first year and 50% will be homeless within four years. Only 1 out of every 2 foster kids who age out will have gainful employment by age 24 and less than 3% will earn a college degree.
My Father's House consists of a group of compassionate individuals who want to be a part of rectifying this trend mentoring, training, coaching and disciplining these young adults in those areas not yet fully developed. This endeavor was birthed in the heart and mind of My Father's House Greensboro President Yolanda Brick. Her desire is to see a generation redeemed and given a stable home environment in which young adults find hope, build self-esteem, and gain education and life skills to be self- sufficient contributing members of society.
